Here's a wagon full of Midnight Blue popcorn that's been shelled off the cob. It's ready to be tumbled (to get rid of the "bees wings"), and then cleaned and packaged. We usually package into half pound, one pound, or two pound clear plastic bags, or into 50 pound yellow plastic bags.
Our small bags don't let in oxygen, so our product keeps indefinitely. You want the air out and the moisture in. If the popcorn dries out too much it doesn't pop well. You can experiment with that by intentionally drying some out and seeing what happens.

What do we do with all those husks and cobs that remain after the popcorn has been shelled? Well, we put it into our old manure spreader and spread it out onto the fields. Dara is driving, with Carl's help!
